On Saturday, May 17th, guests of the Grace Church Van Vorst in Jersey City steppedinto the historic beauty of our 172-year-old sanctuary and experienced a festival that’s been inspiring creativity for 36 years. This year’s theme, Threads of Connection, highlighted the powerful ties between artists, audiences, and our shared stories.
Guests sipped champagne, enjoyed live music, dance, & spoken word - all while discovering stunning work by local and regional artists and connecting with a community that values the arts.
All proceeds support vital community arts programs that enrich Jersey City year-round.

The Cathedral Arts Festival, founded over 36 years ago by Grace Church Van Vorst parishioners, has grown from a grassroots celebration into one of New Jersey’s longest-running visual arts festivals and a cornerstone of Jersey City’s cultural life.
More than just an art show, the festival honors exceptional talent from across the tri-state area and serves as the church’s main fundraising event, supporting both community outreach and local arts programming.
Hosted inside the breathtaking 157-year-old sanctuary, the event transforms this architectural gem into a living gallery. Attendees can explore a juried collection of original paintings, sculptures, photographs, and mixed media works, each telling a story as vibrant as the community it represents.
One of the most anticipated moments each year is the Champagne Gala—an elegant evening that opens the festival in style. Held beneath soaring Gothic arches, the gala features:
