The Cathedral Arts Festival, a cherished tradition initiated by the parishioners of Grace Church Van Vorst 35 years ago, stands as a testament to the celebration of artistic expression.

This festival not only honors artists from across the tri-state area but also serves as the church’s principal fundraising event, contributing significantly to the flourishing art scene of Jersey City.

Renowned for being one of New Jersey’s most enduring visual arts events, the festival is hosted within the hallowed walls of the church’s 157-year-old sanctuary—a masterpiece of architecture in its own right. The festival’s diverse array of artworks includes paintings, sculptures, and photographs, each telling its own unique story.

A highlight of this year’s festival was the annual champagne gala, an elegant affair that marked the opening of the event. Held in the sanctuary, it featured a juried art exhibit where original works are both displayed and available for purchase. The evening also included a silent auction, adding an element of excitement to the festivities. Guests were treated to a sumptuous catered dinner, complemented by an abundance of champagne. The gala was further enlivened by a variety of musical performances and other forms of entertainment, ensuring a memorable experience for all who attend

Proceeds from the Cathedral Arts Festival go to support Grace Church Van Vorst’s many outreach programs, which include The Triangle Park Community Center and our on-going support of Grace Community Services which was begun by Grace Church Van Vorst 30 years ago to feed our neighbors in body, mind and soul seven days week
